Surface treatment of hot pressed objects will add a number of extra qualities to the object, both with regard to its properties and its look. In the electrical industry, it is thus advantageous to coat copper or aluminium with silver to improve the conductivity. Similarly, the designer’s brass candlestick may be coated with gold to give them a beautiful finish.
Other kinds of surface treatment remove sharp corners and edges from the object.

Examples on possible
Of course there are limits to how the objects can be shaped and hot pressed, due to physical and technical restrictions. However, often, only our imagination sets the limits. The combination of shaping, choice of materials and subsequent machining and surface treatment make hot pressing a successful method for designers/constructors who expect certain qualities in their objects.
